Favorite Resource Friday: Librarian and Eductor's Services

Just in time for Christmas shopping - here's new series for Favorite Resources.   Since there are not so many Fridays before Christmas, I'll probably go outside the bounds of Friday posts for the next couple of weeks, as the notion strikes me.  You might consider subscribing to posts so you don't miss anything.

To get things started, here is absolutely my FAVORITE shopping resource for books and audio media. Over the years this one vendor has more than doubled my purchasing power for my daughter.  Let me explain:
Years ago a friend introduced me to Educator's and Librarian Services by telling me she purchased Adventure in Odyssey collection cd  for something like six dollars a piece!   FOUR dollars for the entire album collection???????   These normally sell for around $20.  Send me the link!!!

So - here it is - (LES) Librarian and Educator's Services.
LES is a wholesale company that sells audio, visual and print media to Christian schools, libraries and churches.  As homeschoolers, we qualify to shop.

The prices are among the lowest I have ever seen anywhere, especially when items are on clearance.  I have been able to get cd collections at fantastic savings because they were early editions (published before my daughter was even born -so they were new to her).  Every year my friend and I would share what Odyssey collections we were purchasing so our children could switch.

There are adult books as well as children's so there is something for everyone on your list (including yourself).
Here is what you want to do -
  1. Enroll in the site so you can get your email notices of sales.  They don't send a lot of emails, but there are a good number of ongoing sales.  I've purchased a good number of school books from them over the years as well.
  2. Save the print sales catalog when it comes in your mail box.  You will want your children to go through and highlight the things they want, especially if there is a large collection (like Odyssey story collections).
  3. Shop online in plenty of time for delivery.  This company is not LL BEAN and they don't offer those same "guaranteed to arrive by Christmas Eve" type of deals.  Ask me how I know this.
Please send me a thank you in the comments if you have never heard of this resource before.
